This classic clutch is part of a very special collection that incorporates textiles from the Shipibo tribe in the Amazon. The women of the Shipibo tribe pass the embroidery tradition down along generations.
On this particular clutch, the kené (the intricately embroidered pattern) goes from front-to-back. Kené is the Shipibo tribe's code. They do not consider it art, but instead, the recording of "the music of the jungle" woven through observation. There is no template or plan the women follow as each is a unique song.
A beautiful piece that makes for a truly unique and thoughtful gift.
